In the heart of Düsseldorf’s Zooviertel, a hidden world once flourished, where history was written. Gabriele Henkel transformed this estate into a place of intellectual and cultural exchange between great minds.
Anyone who lives in one of the only five residences of CHAMI 9 does not have to make this compromise. Although they have the privilege of using the extensive, unique sculpture park connected to the city villa, the Schmitz family, as operators, take over the professional maintenance of the park and pool, as well as the organization of the works of art.
Already today a monument of tomorrow
The building, with its only five apartments – one of which is the crowning penthouse – is characterized by its timeless architecture and its supreme elegance. The facade, structured by high, slender windows, expansive terraces and winter gardens, is additionally refined with precious, hand-hewn natural stone. On the park side, two large, bright sun courtyards are being created. Here, the new building combines with the listed park to form a perfect unit. And it almost seems as if the city villa had already stood here at the time of the Henkels.
